ATTEND & PARTICIATE: You gain the most from your membership by attending and participating in Chamber functions. These events allow you to network with fellow members and increase the visibility of your business. ? After Hours Mix & Mingle – 2nd Tuesday of each month. (5:30pm – 7pm) ? Member Luncheons – 3rd Thursday of each month. (11:45am – 1pm) ? Business Before Hours – Periodically scheduled throughout the year. ? Joining the Ambassador Committee is one of the first steps you can take to become more involved. The primary function of an Ambassador is member involvement. Ambassadors are a team of knowledgeable volunteers that share with new and potential members the benefits of Chamber membership. Ambassadors help fellow members engage in the Chamber programs, events, and money-saving opportunities as well as aid Chamber staff at our various networking and ribbon cutting events. The Commerce and Public Policy Committee addresses small business needs and works to develop and implement programs that attract new businesses as well as business expansion. Committee members work closely with business and economic development organizations to monitor issues that may affect business and encourage dialogue with elected officials. This important Chamber group reviews and develops public policy positions that are “pro-business”. The Chamber leadership then takes the positions to elected officials and staff. This committee develops, executes and implements programs to promote and enhance quality business success, encourage economic diversification, job growth and addresses the needs of small business. Members promote local, state, and federal legislative interests of the business community and works to highlight and discuss issues of interest and is dedicated to identifying and solving the key economic issues facing Jensen Beach, Rio, Hutchinson Island and Martin County. Committee members monitor notable policies from our elected officials and how these policies affect the business community. The committee is dedicated to promoting the local, state, and federal legislative interests of the business community and works to highlight and discuss issues of interest to our members. They also analyze important economic topics in coordination with other business organizations to improve commerce in the Jensen Beach and Hutchinson Island area. The Education Committee works to bring about a cooperative interchange of goals, information and activities between local businesses and schools. Initiatives include: Teachers & Staff Welcome Back Appreciation Breakfast, Adopt-A-Class Program, Community, Chamber for Schools, school supply drives, Teacher and Student of the Month, and Junior Achievement programs. The annual fundraising event for the art and music programs is the Art, Music & Benefit Auction. The Committee meets the last Tuesday of each month, August through April. The Community Engagement Committee assists the local tourism industry to reach full potential. Committee members work to enhance the image, community pride, and quality of life of Jensen Beach through beautification projects and producing special events that showcase business and community. Chamber produced events include: Jammin’ Jensen (every Thursday Night in Downtown Jensen Beach), Jensen Beach Fine Art & Craft Show, St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Taste of Jensen, and the annual Jensen Beach Pineapple Festival. This committee is comprised of talented business leaders who work to provide various communication and networking opportunities, including fundraising and community programs and projects. The tasks to be coordinated by this committee are to make recommendations for developing local events, social media, newsletter publishing, business directory & visitors guide, local street map, website and other functions deemed necessary by the Board of Directors. The Building Fund Committee will help identify sources of in-kind and cash contributions to fund the construction of the new Chamber headquarters to be built at the 1910 NE Jensen Beach Boulevard, the site of the former Chamber office building.
